Jodi Brown - Ultra Running Coach and Psychological Therapist

Hello! I'm Jodi: run coach, psychological therapist and personal trainer. I'm also crazy about running trails, ultramarathons and chasing adventures.

I've created Side by Stride to help athletes work on both the physical and psychological aspects of running performance and enjoyment. It's built on a whole heap of evidence, knowledge, experience and insight from 20+ years in the health and wellbeing industry.

I offer a unique combination of run coaching (all the usual things you'd expect from a good run coach) alongside helpful tools and techniques from psychological therapies and mindset coaching. 

My experience tells me that all runners experience challenges such as:

  • Losing confidence after an injury or illness, a life event, or a difficult race;
  • The impact of ageing and self-image;
  • Struggling with self-doubt or comparison;
  • Finding it hard to stay motivated or consistent;
  • Feeling anxious before runs and races,
  • Being overly critical of their performance: perfectionism;
  • Balancing a busy and chaotic life alongside achieving running goals;
  • Avoiding certain events, groups or places for fear of ‘failure’;
  • Losing the joy in running: wondering where it’s gone and why it feels so tough.
