Course

The 50K Ultra route commences directly from Charmouth Beach, immediately placing participants on the undulating path of the South West Coast Path. The course heads westwards, navigating the dramatic cliffs and coves of the Jurassic Coast – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The terrain is characterised by continuous elevation changes, featuring numerous steep ascents and descents, often involving steps carved into the coastline. Sections include traditional clifftop trails, occasional shingle or sandy beach stretches, and pathways through small coastal settlements. Notable landmarks encountered along the route include the imposing Golden Cap, the highest point on the South Coast of England, and the distinct coastal formations around West Bay (known from "Broadchurch"), Burton Bradstock, and Hive Beach. The route offers uninterrupted views of the evolving coastal geology and the expansive English Channel.
