Trent Valley 50K Ultra Marathon Nottinghamshire

Combine two of the best things in life: trail running and a well-earned pint. The Trent Valley 50k is a scenic, friendly, and flat(ish) 50k ultra marathon in Nottinghamshire that starts and finishes at a brewery. What more motivation do you need?

Organised by Quadrio Events, a team of runners who truly understand what makes a race special, this event has quickly built a reputation for its fantastic atmosphere and accessible route. It’s the perfect introduction for first-time ultra runners or a fast, fun day out for the speedsters

Course

The 50km (31 mile) route is a stunning tour of the Trent Valley. You’ll be running through charming Nottinghamshire villages, following a mix of footpaths, bridleways, farm tracks and minor roads.

It’s a course designed to showcase the natural beauty of the region without breaking your spirit on endless mountains. The terrain is runnable and varied, making it a great option if you want to test your legs over the ultra distance without worrying about technical mountain skills.

With well-stocked checkpoints placed strategically every 6-8 miles, you’re never far from support, a friendly face and a quick refuel.

Let’s be honest, the finish line is a huge draw. The race starts and ends at the Milestone Brewery & Taproom in Cromwell. Crossing the line doesn't just mean a medal (well, actually, you get a commemorative branded pint glass!) it means immediate access to the taproom, delicious food vendors, and post-race entertainment. It’s a proper celebration of your achievement.

Why Run the Trent Valley 50K?

If you are looking for a low-pressure, high-fun ultra, this is it. The 10-hour cut off is generous, making it welcoming for walkers and run-walkers, while the flat course offers PB potential for the racers. The unique "brewery-to-brewery" concept (looping back to the same one!) creates a brilliant social vibe that stays with you long after the legs stop aching.

Plus, you get a pint glass instead of another medal to gather dust in a drawer, practical and memorable!
