Welcome to the ultimate test of endurance, set against the backdrop of a private Staffordshire farm. The DNF x FCF Backyard Ultra isn't just a race; it’s a collision of brutal athletic performance and a festival atmosphere.

A collaboration between the DNF Club and Far Coley Farm, this event strips ultrarunning back to its rawest format: the Backyard Ultra. There is no finish line, no set distance, and nowhere to hide. You run, you rest, you repeat, until you simply can't anymore.

Format

The rules adhere strictly to the classic "Last One Standing" format popularised by Lazarus Lake.

• The Distance: 4.167 miles (6.706 km ) per loop.
• The Clock: You must complete the loop within one hour.
• The Restart: The bell rings on the hour, every hour. If you are in the corral, you continue. If you aren't, you are a DNF.
• The Winner: The race continues until only one runner remains to complete a solo lap. Everyone else receives a "Did Not Finish."

Forget soulless industrial estates or generic park loops. This event takes place on a farm in Staffordshire, owned by Emily Meakin, part of the Hyrox Elite 15 and officially Britain's fittest farmer 2025. The 4.167 miles loop utilises farm tracks, fields, and trails. It’s designed to be runnable but honest, fair enough to allow for high mileage, but tough enough to grind you down over 24+ hours.

What sets the DNF x FCF Backyard Ultra apart is the atmosphere. While the race on the course is uncompromising, the Race Village is a sanctuary.

• Athlete HQ Barn: A dedicated indoor space for runners to reset, refuel, and panic about the next bell.
• Festival Atmosphere: This is a spectator-friendly event. Expect DJ sets pumping tunes during the day, food stalls serving high-quality fuel, and a buzzing community vibe.
• Crew Support: Unlike some lonely ultras, crews and families are actively encouraged. They can set up in the village, enjoy the music, and keep your head in the game loop after loop.
• On-site Accommodation: You don’t need to sleep in your car (unless you want to). The venue offers on-site accommodation options and camping, turning the race into a full weekend experience. Whether you are aiming for 7 laps or 70, you are part of the tribe for the weekend.

In most races, "DNF" means failure. Here, it's a badge of honour. Unless you win, you will DNF, but the goal is to see how far you can push your own boundaries before that happens.
