This event follows the classic 'last person standing' (backyard ultra) format, demanding consistency, pacing and sheer will-power from every competitor.

The Backyard Ultra Format

If you're unfamiliar with the backyard ultra format the objective is deceptively simple, be the last runner remaining!

1. The Yard: Participants set off on a precisely measured 4.167 mile loop (approximately 6.7km), known as 'the yard'. 24 yards (i.e. 24 hours) = 100 miles.
2. The Clock: The clock resets every hour, and every runner must be back in the start corral before the 60 minutes are up.
3. The Start: You must be ready to start the next loop when the whistle blows on the hour. Late arrivals are immediately disqualified.
4. The Winner: The race continues indefinitely until only one runner remains. That single individual must complete one final, solo lap to be officially crowned the course champion. Everyone else, regardless of the staggering distance covered, is recorded as a DNF (Did Not Finish).
