Embark on the ultimate grand-tour of Eryri/Snowdonia National Park with the Ultra-Trail Snowdonia 100M (UTS 100M) by UTMB. This brutal yet breathtaking 100 mile ultra-marathon is renowned as one of the toughest Ultra-Trail events globally, offering an Alpine-scale mountain running challenge right in the heart of the UK.
The UTS 100M course is a single, immense loop that navigates the most notable peaks and technical trails of northern Snowdonia, including the majestic Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). Runners will encounter diverse and challenging terrain, from boggy marshland and scree to boulder fields, and even short sections of non-graded scrambling where hands may be needed for stability. The route is waymarked, but due to its rugged nature and potential for challenging conditions, participants are required to carry a map and compass and possess effective navigation skills, in addition to a GPX file. The high DNF (Did Not Finish) rates underscore the extreme difficulty and demands of this incredible race.
As a prestigious event within the UTMB World Series, finishing the UTS 100M earns participants 4 Running Stones. These Running Stones are crucial for entry into the ballot for the iconic UTMB Mont-Blanc race, making UTS a vital stepping stone for aspiring international ultra-runners.
