Brace yourself for what is often regarded as one of the toughest and most beautiful 50k races on the UK trail running calendar. The Maverick Exmoor Ultra is a punishing yet spectacular 55 kilometre journey through the wild, untamed beauty of Exmoor National Park.
Part of Maverick's elite 'X-Trail' series, this event is designed to test your limits. From towering coastal cliffs and ancient wooded valleys to the exposed high moorland, the Exmoor course is a relentless assault on the senses and the legs. This is an ultramarathon that will demand your respect and reward you with an unforgettable experience.
The numbers alone tell a story of a formidable challenge. This ultramarathon covers 55km (34 miles) and packs in 2,150m (7,050ft) of elevation gain. The course is a series of savage, punchy climbs and thrilling technical descents.
Your journey will take you along the dramatic South West Coast Path, through the mythical Valley of Rocks, and up to the summit of Dunkery Beacon, the highest point in Exmoor. This is a pure and uncompromising ultra that requires immense physical strength and mental fortitude. The constantly changing terrain and punishing gradients make this a test for even the most seasoned ultrarunner.
