The Course
This 50km ultra marathon begins dramatically at the historic Sudeley Castle, immediately immersing you in the heart of the Cotswolds. The 51km route is a masterpiece of trail design, linking multiple revered Long Distance Paths, including sections of the iconic Cotswold Way, the Winchcombe Way, and the Gloucestershire Way.
Expect a relentless, yet incredibly rewarding, journey over rolling terrain, where every ascent is met with a panoramic vista across verdant valleys. The trails are predominantly hard-packed and well-established, guiding you through ancient woodlands, vast open fields, and charming, picturesque Cotswold villages. While the hills are steep and demand respect, they are balanced by flowing sections that allow you to find your rhythm and truly experience the diverse beauty of this famous AONB. This course is a true test of endurance, inviting you to push your limits amidst some of England's most idyllic scenery.

Along the 51km route, you'll find four well-stocked aid stations (Outposts). These are designed to top up your hydration and energy, offering a selection of sweet and savoury snacks, gels, and electrolyte drinks. Maverick Race is also committed to sustainability, operating plastic-free outposts and encouraging all runners to bring their own reusable cups.
The atmosphere at the event village, set against the stunning backdrop of Sudeley Castle, is vibrant and welcoming. It's a perfect spot for families and support crews to relax, explore the castle grounds, and cheer on the runners
