Maverick Peak District 100k Ultra Marathon
Prepare for the ultimate test of endurance in the heart of the UK's original national park. The Maverick Peak District 100k ultramarathon is the flagship race of the X-Trail series, a brutal and beautiful journey through some of the most iconic and challenging landscapes England has to offer.
This is more than just a 100km ultra; it is a grand tour of the Peak District's most famous and formidable terrain. From exposed moorland and technical, rocky edges to ancient forests, this course is designed to push you to your absolute limit.
Course
Starting and finishing in the picturesque town of Bakewell, the 101km route is a true monster. With 2,849m (9,347ft) of elevation gain, the course will test your climbing legs and descending skills from start to finish.
The route is a showcase of the Peak District's finest trails, guiding you through legendary locations such as Hathersage, Bamford, and along the world-renowned gritstone escarpments of Stanage, Curbar, and Froggatt Edge. The terrain is constantly varied, demanding your full attention and a high level of trail running skill. This is a pure and uncompromising challenge for the serious ultrarunner.
This is a fully supported event designed for a premium race experience. Runners will be aided by seven fully-stocked aid stations ('outposts') along the route. A drop bag service is also included, with access to your personal supplies at the 57km mark to help you prepare for the second half of the race.
GPS tracker fitting and the mandatory kit check will take place on the evening (5 pm - 8 pm) before at the showground.
