Race to the Stones 100KM Ultra Marathon

The Race to the Stones 100KM Ultra Marathon, presented by Threshold Trail Series, is an endurance event that follows the entire length of the historic Ridgeway National Trail. This 100 kilometre point-to-point course offers a journey across ancient landscapes, culminating at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Avebury Standing Stones.

Course

The 100km route is defined by the Ridgeway National Trail, a path used for over 5,000 years. Starting in Lewknor, the course guides participants westward across sweeping chalk downland, through sections of ancient woodland, and along established trails and bridleways.

The terrain is generally runnable, characterised by consistent, gradual ascents and descents. Significant landmarks along the route include the crossing of the River Thames near Goring & Streatley, the distinctive Uffington White Horse, and various Iron Age hill forts. The course provides continuous views across the rolling Southern England landscape, culminating at the prehistoric Avebury Standing Stones, offering a distinct and historically significant finish.
