Ready to take on the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) but not quite up for the full 100 miler? The Yr Wyddfa Ultra 50 from GB Ultras is the perfect race for you. Packing all the drama, beauty, and challenge of its big sibling into a breathtaking 50 mile course, this is your chance to experience one of the UK's most iconic mountain ultramarathons.
Don't be fooled by the shorter distance; this is a beast of a 50 miler. Starting in the vibrant hub of Betws-y-Coed, the route wastes no time in heading for the high ground. You'll tackle a formidable 3,254m of elevation as you journey through the heart of the national park.
The crowning glory of the course is the ascent of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) itself. You'll climb Wales's highest peak via the quieter, more scenic Rhyd Ddu path, earning every bit of the spectacular 360-degree view from the summit. From there, the route takes you through legendary mountain landscapes, past stunning lakes, and down exhilarating descents on your way back to a hero's welcome in Betws-y-Coed.
When you run a GB Ultras event, you know you're in for a premium experience. The course is meticulously marked and marshalled, and the checkpoints are legendary for their warm welcome and fantastic selection of food and drink. With live GPS tracking for every runner and a highly experienced medical team on standby, you can push your limits in the knowledge that you are fully supported from start to finish.
