Set in the heart of the stunning Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Hundred Hills 50km ultra marathon is widely regarded as one of Centurion's toughest 50k events, famed for its rolling terrain and spectacular scenery.
Starting and finishing in the historic grounds of Stonor Park, this ultramarathon is a modern classic that will challenge and reward you in equal measure. Itβs a pure and uncompromising trail ultra that showcases the very best of this beautiful part of the country.
The name says it all. This is a course defined by its hills. This 50km (31 mile) single-loop ultra packs a formidable punch, with approximately 1,200m (4,000ft) of elevation gain.
The route is a journey through ancient woodlands, across lush green valleys and up steep, chalky escarpments. The climbs are often sharp and demanding, while the descents can be technical, requiring your full concentration. There is very little flat ground, making this a challenge that requires hill training and a strong pacing strategy.
From the magnificent Stonor Park estate, the Hundred Hills ultra heads out on a clockwise loop into the quintessentially English countryside. You will traverse a mixture of ancient bridleways, woodland singletrack, and sections of the Oxfordshire Way. The route is designed to be as beautiful as it is brutal, with panoramic views from the hilltops serving as your reward for the effort required to get there.
As with all Centurion events, you can expect world-class course marking and legendary aid stations, allowing you to focus on the challenge ahead.
