Snowdonia Sea2Sky 50K Ultra Marathon

Embark on an unparalleled ultra-marathon adventure with the RunThrough Snowdonia Sea2Sky 50K, a unique event that encapsulates the diverse and spectacular landscapes of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. This breath taking ultra takes you from golden sandy beaches to rugged alpine summits and promises an unforgettable experience for every intrepid trail runner.

Course

The Snowdonia Sea2Sky 50K delivers precisely what its name promises: a dramatic transition from the tranquil coastline to the formidable peaks. This 50km ultra begins on the beautiful golden sands of Barmouth beach, instantly immersing you in the serene coastal atmosphere. The route quickly transitions, taking you over the iconic Barmouth footbridge and onto the scenic Mawddach Trail, offering picturesque riverside running.

But don't let the gentle start deceive you. The true challenge awaits as you begin your ascent towards the majestic Cadair Idris (Cader Idris), one of Snowdonia's most legendary and imposing mountains. This significant climb will test your fortitude, rewarding your efforts with panoramic views that stretch across vast landscapes, from the distant coastline to the undulating mountain ranges. The terrain shifts dramatically, moving from runnable trails to more rugged, alpine-like mountain paths. After conquering the summit, the course guides you on an exhilarating loop back towards Barmouth, culminating your journey where it began – by the sea. This route showcases everything that makes Wales so spectacular, blending serene coastal paths with the raw, untamed beauty of its mountain heartland.
