Skipton Skedaddle 55km (34.3 Miles) Ultra Marathon

Want the spectacular scenery of the Yorkshire Dales without the full brutality of a 50 mile ultra? The Skipton Skedaddle 34.3 Mile (55km) Ultra is the perfect "Goldilocks" challenge, tough enough to test your endurance, but scenic enough to keep you smiling.

Part of the Punk Panther series, this race starts in the bustling market town of Skipton before escaping into the rolling green hills and limestone landscapes that define this part of the world. It’s a route that packs in over 1,265m (4,152ft) of climbing, taking you right to the heart of Malhamdale without the punishing northern extension of the 50 mile course.

Course

The course is a classic Dales loop. You’ll leave Skipton and head north, passing through the village of Hetton (CP1) before reaching the highlight of the day: Malham.

This isn't just a run; it's a tour of geological wonders. You’ll navigate the trails around the famous limestone pavement and Malham Cove, tackling steep climbs and fast descents. Unlike the 50 milers who head off into the wilderness of Rainscar, you’ll turn south after Malham, heading back through Airton (CP6) towards the finish line in Skipton.

Navigation: The 34 mile (55km) route is fully taped and flagged. However, tape gets moved by wind (and sheep!), so carrying the GPX file and map is still mandatory.

Every runner gets a GPS tracker included in their entry fee. It’s a great safety feature that lets your friends and family watch your progress live online via the tracker link.

All checkpoints are stocked with water, Coke, energy bars, and crisps (vegan/GF options available). Note: Support crews are strictly not allowed at official CPs due to space constraints.
