The Llangollen 50K Ultra by Out-Fit
Nestled in the heart of North Wales, the Llangollen 50K ultra is a race that offers a spectacular journey through the Dee Valley, promising both a test of endurance and unforgettable views for every ultra runner.
This 50km ultra marathon utilises two distinct, well-marked linear paths on either side of the majestic river, with a little extra to round out the full 50k. For experienced ultra runners, the Llangollen 50K is a beautiful and testing course to add to your ultra calendar, and for those less experienced it's a fantastic stepping stone for anyone wanting to progress from marathon distance and enter the world of ultramarathons.
Course
Starting and finishing at the Llangollen Leisure Centre, the route guides you along a varied landscape that showcases the best of North Wales. You'll first tackle sections of the Dee Valley Way as you head towards Corwen, before joining the North Berwyn Way for your return journey. The undulating terrain demands respect, featuring challenging climbs interspersed with runnable sections that allow you to soak in the incredible scenery. While there will be plenty of opportunities for power hiking on the steeper ascents, these moments also provide the perfect chance to admire the panoramic vistas and connect with your fellow ultra enthusiasts.
