Embark on a spectacular 100 mile ultra marathon through the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons National Park), starting at the historic Abergavenny Castle ruins. The route follows the iconic Beacons Way National Trail, featuring 10 checkpoints along the way and summiting some of South Wales’ most dramatic peaks, including Pen-y-Fan (886m) and the majestic Carmarthen Fans.
Tackle an epic 6,143m of elevation gain (over 20,000 ft) across rugged terrain and breath taking mountain passes. With live GPS tracking provided via GB Race Tracker, friends and family can follow your progress in real time. Backed by the dedicated #GBUltras support team, this event offers not only stunning views and immense personal reward, but also UTMB Performance Index points and ITRA recognition.
Due to the demanding nature of the route, registration is by application only, ensuring that each runner has the relevant endurance and mountain experience. Both 100 mile and 100km options are available for qualified applicants.
The event is a self-navigation challenge, requiring all participants to be confident using traditional map and compass skills, especially in poor weather or low-visibility conditions. While GPS devices are permitted, they must not be your only method of navigation.
Optional return transport to the start venue is available after you cross the finish line. For full details, please visit the official race website.
