Take on the beast! The Hardmoors 110 is the original and ultimate challenge in the Hardmoors Grand Slam, a legendary 110 mile ultramarathon that follows the entire length of the spectacular Cleveland Way National Trail. This is a true monster of a race and a rite of passage for any ultrarunner looking to conquer one of the UK's toughest and most beautiful 100 mile ultra marathons.
From the dramatic coastline to the remote, heather-clad moors, the Hardmoors 110 is an unforgettable journey through a stunning and unforgiving landscape.
This is an ultra that demands respect. The 110 mile (177km) route is relentless, packing in a colossal 5,000m (16,500ft) of elevation gain. The course record stands at over 20 hours, a testament to the brutal nature of the terrain.
Beginning at the iconic Filey Brigg, the race follows the Cleveland Way northwards along the stunning Heritage Coastline. You'll pass through famous seaside towns like Scarborough, Whitby, and Saltburn, as well as charming, smuggler's coves such as Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes.
After 55 miles, the route turns inland at Saltburn, where the character of the race changes dramatically. You will traverse the full, wild escarpment of the North York Moors, taking on iconic climbs like the 'Three Sisters' and Roseberry Topping. The final leg of your journey takes you across vast, remote moorland before the triumphant finish in the beautiful market town of Helmsley.
To earn the coveted Hardmoors 110 medal is to join a select group of ultrarunners who have conquered one of Britain's most formidable trail challenges. For full details, please visit the official Hardmoors website.
