Maverick Jurassic Coast 100KM Ultra Marathon

The Maverick Jurassic Coast 100KM Ultra Marathon is an endurance trail running event set along the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast in Dorset. This 100km ultra is structured as an out-and-back route, providing a significant physical test over relentlessly undulating coastal terrain.

Course Profile

Beginning from the historic Corfe Castle, the 100KM Ultra route follows a westerly direction along sections of the South West Coast Path. The terrain is characterised by continuous elevation changes, featuring numerous steep ascents and descents inherent to the coastal path. Surfaces include well-worn trails, stony sections, occasional brief beach traversals, and grassy clifftops.

The course passes a series of notable geological formations and landmarks, including Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, Tyneham Village, Kimmeridge Bay, St Aldhelm's Head, Swanage Bay, and Old Harry Rocks. Runners will reach a turnaround point before retracing their steps, encountering the same ascents and descents from a different perspective. This out-and-back format, combined with the exposed nature of coastal trails and the cumulative elevation gain, contributes to the route's demanding profile.

For detailed course information, outpost locations, cut-off times, and the complete mandatory kit list, participants should refer to the official Maverick Race website.
